Task description: 

The project will support the implementation of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change in the Western Balkans and Turkey and help their transition towards the low emissions and climate-resilient economy. This will be done by supporting climate policy and legislative development across sectors, especially the work on the integrated climate and energy action plans as well as an increased climate mainstreaming that will allow IPA II beneficiaries to fulfil their international and the EU acquis requirements.

The Team Leader will be responsible for the professional coordination of the project, the overall fulfilment of all project management tasks, maintain regular contact and direct communication with the Contracting Authority, the quality of the team’s performance and its delivered outputs. Specific tasks will be defined at a later point.

Qualifications: 

For the project we are looking for an international team leader meeting the following criteria:

Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years professional experience
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Ideally a post graduate degree in related fields to climate change, energy or environment.

Experience:

  • At least one previous long-term assignment as a team leader funded by the EU.

  • Relevant experiences in one of the fields of climate change, energy and environment.

Significant experience of:          

  • Working experience in the Balkan countries / Turkey
  • Working with international development agencies (EU, USAID etc.) and / or development banks (KfW, WB etc.)

Duration:

The expected implementation period for the Services is 36 months.

Location:

The Team Leader and key experts shall be based in Brussels with regular travels to the region.
