GOPA’s Governance and Economic Development department (GED) successfully closes “EU-Thailand PDSF” project

Last Technical Assistance to Thai Government ended

GOPA Consultants' Governance and Economic Development department proudly announces that the “EU-Thailand Policy Dialogue Support Facility” project came to an end after 4.5 years of successful implementation (2013-2017).

In the context of demand-driven activities, the PDSF contributes towards advancing Thailand’s cooperation with the EU, in all four strategic areas of implementation: (i) Trade and Investment; (ii) Higher Education and Technology; (iii) Environment, Climate Change, Energy and Natural Resources Management; and (iv) Good Governance.

The PDSF's key achievements include: strengthening DOF’s regulatory capacity, providing support to the Thai University classification system, drafting the SCP roadmap, institutionalisation of the Thailand Aviation MRV system, as well as drafting roadmaps for SDGs 1 (no poverty), 11 (sustainable cities and communities), and 12 (responsible consumption and production).

Evidence of all project activities are to be seen on the project’s official website:

Although originally meant as a Policy Dialogue Support project, PDSF has slowly shifted its way into supporting Thailand’s policy towards achieving SDGs. This direction reshape was highly appreciated by the EU and has become possible mainly as a result of the excellent and flexible work by our Team Leader, Chris Oates, with the strong support of the GOPA team.

The PDSF closing event took place in Bangkok, on 28 November 2017, bringing up extremely good feedback on the project’s - and implicitly, on GOPA’s - performance.

The wrap-up video of the project can be accessed through, summarising some of the most important achievements by PDSF.
