GOPA to carry out a case study for SDC on the ongoing policy dialogue in Bolivia
In the context of development cooperation, policy dialogue is best described as the deliberate process of influencing decisions within political systems and institutions, with the aim of making public policies and processes more just, inclusive and pro-poor. The regional expert deployed by our Monitoring & Evaluation Quality deapartment conducted interviews with various stakeholders in and outside Bolivia, among them Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Helvetas, Swisscontact, Solidar and Brücke-Le Pont, at different levels with the aim to define roles and responsibilities in future SDC-funded development cooperation projects in Bolivia. He will identify opportunities and obstacles for: (i) future collaboration, with an analysis of potential effects of such collaboration on the situation of Bolivian civil society organisations; and (ii) for creating an enabling environment.
It is foreseen to present the results of the study which is being implemented in close cooperation with Helvetas at a round table with stakeholders in La Paz at the end of July 2016, and additionally at a meeting of the Swiss NGO platform in Bern in September 2016.
