Objectives:

Together with Planco and Dresden Sewerage and Drainage Company (SEDD), GOPA Consultants is responsible for implementing Component 4 of the GIZ “VET reform” programme, “Vocational training and continuing education of skilled workforce in the wastewater sector”.

Component 4 takes a cooperative approach which involves players in the field of VET and continuing training in the wastewater sector. These players come from official institutions (ministries, municipalities, etc.) and also from the economy (enterprises, sector associations, etc.).

The development of standards and curricula should follow a comprehensive training concept for vocational training in the wastewater sector.

Activities:
  • Development of occupational standards
  • Curriculum development
  • Development of training modules for teachers and school management
  • Conducting of training
  • Organisation of workshops in Germany together with specialists from Vietnam and Germany in the wastewater sector and/or vocational education
  • Establishment of partnerships between vocational schools and enterprises (cooperative model)
  • Drawing up specifications for procurement of training facilities
Result:

Teachers and trainers will be trained in practical and theoretical issues and in didactics. Members of the school management board will receive courses on innovative aspects of school management, especially related to the cooperative model. In addition, supplementary equipment will be purchased for training in selected schools. Enterprises, schools and other relevant social partners (for example, the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, VWSA) will be motivated to follow the idea of a cooperative training model.
