Support to the Statistical Systems of the Neighbourhood South Countries (MEDSTAT V)
Task description:
  • Ensure the overall co-ordination of the contract activities, the planning and implementation of training, visibility and information dissemination actions, and the preparation and submission of the periodic reports to the European Commission services
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and liaison with the concerned Commission officials and with high-level statistical representatives in the EU and in the ENP-South countries.
  • Frequent missions to ENP-South countries and territories and EU member states (subject to COVID-19 developments)
  • Supervision and control of the work of the team of experts so as to ensure the quality of the contract performance
  • Quality control of the deliverables envisaged in the contract
  • Managing the dissemination and visibility strategy of the MEDSTAT programme
  • Proactive attitude to problem solving
Qualifications:

University Degree in economics, statistics or related field, preferably completed by post-graduate studies at Master’s or PhD level

Full command of written and spoken English and French

Knowledge of Arabic will be an asset

Proven managerial skills of complex multicultural teams, especially in the domain of mid-size and large international projects

General professional experience:

Minimum of 15 years overall experience in project-related management and implementation required

Minimum of 8 years' experience in aid cooperation projects required

Minimum of 10 years' experience in statistics is preferable

Specific professional experience:

Experience in a management/team leader position or equivalent, in a cooperation project of similar size and complexity required

Experience in the ENP-South region will be an asset
