Albania: Supporting the implementation of social inclusion reforms
GOPA has recently started a 4-year, European Union (EU)-funded project, which constitutes an integral part of the EU’s support to the Social Inclusion Agenda (2020-2024) in Albania. The project focuses on increasing coverage, inclusiveness and effectiveness of social care services, as well as providing inclusive education and employment opportunities. It will offer advisory services to three public institutions: Ministry of Health and Social Protection; Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports; and Ministry of Finance and Economy.
Specifically, the project will support and build capacity of key institutions in the fields of social protection and social care services; inclusive education, focusing on pre-university education and VET; and increased employment opportunities, particularly for vulnerable groups. It will also support the coordination of the reform agenda via the Integrated Policy Management Group on Employment and Skills and relevant thematic groups.
